The 85th Anniversary Celebration Party for Neutra Architecture, 1926 – 2011 is this coming weekend April 8th – 10th, 2011! This event “is so on!”. Neutra Architecture will be celebrating 85 years in architecture this weekend with a number of exciting events. Please come and join us in magnificent examples of modern architecture at it’s best, on the “fantastic level”!
The architectural firm was founded by famed architect Richard Neutra, and now carried on by his son, architect Dion Neutra. The event will be celebrating with reception parties and movie documentaries of the firm’s wonderful modern architecture, founded by architect Richard Neutra in 1926.
The celebration begins this Friday, April 8th, through Saturday, April 9th and Sunday, April 10th, at the Eagle Rock Recreation Center in Eagle Rock, CA. with a VIP Reception at the VDL Research House II in Silver Lake, CA. (Richard Neutra would be having his 119th birthday; b. April 8, 1892 – April 16, 1970.) Both Locations were designed by Neutra. Also Included are some special tours of the greatest modern architecture designed by Richard Neutra. For example; the Lovell House, 1929.
“United by the idea that man’s survival depends on design”, Richard Neutra.
See you there!

On the afternoon that I photographed architect Dion Neutra, he happened to be looking at the Tashen “Neutra” book by Barbara Lamprecht on a page about the Singleton House, 1959 in Bel Air, CA. His smile of delight tells the whole story while glancing at his father’s beautiful architectural designs. This happens to be one of my favorite houses designed by Richard Neutra.
Mark, awesome photos. Keep me up to date. Steve
