Palm Springs celebrates it’s Modern treasures in architecture and design again this year with 11 days of special events and programs all about the “Modern”.
The Modern Show at the Palm Springs Convention center, Feb. 18th–20th will feature modern interior design, furniture, art and accessories from 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. Included in these festivities are some of the most outrageous mid-century modern cocktail parties held in some of the most beautiful modern residences ever built! Masterpieces of these locations by world renowned architects include Donald Wexler, John Lautner, William Krisel, Albert Frey, Richard Neutra, E. Steward Williams, A. Quincy Jones, William F. Cody and Barry Berkus, just to name a few.
Park Imperial South Homes Tour and cocktail party will be happening again in celebration of architect Barry Berkus and his beautiful desert modern designs, circa 1961.
The Palm Springs Modern Committee, (PS Mod Com) will have there annual big Party again this year and will be holding many fantastic House Tours durning Modernism Week. Included this year is the Edris House by architect E. Stewart Williams, entertaining magnificent views of the desert valley all around!
This year will be a special Film Premiere of “Modern Tide” by director Jake Gorst, of mid-century modern homes on the East Coast, featuring some of the architecture of the late Andrew Geller known for his wonderful geometric beach house designs which set the pace for the future of modern homes to come! This film premiere will be held at the Palm Springs Hilton Hotel, Feb. 22nd, 7 pm.
